Invention/Entrepreneurial Story:

In today’s high-tech world, where everyone communicates with email, texts, e-cards, etc, two sisters and relatively new moms wanted to bring back the personal touch. We remembered how much we loved finding hidden notes from our mom when we were growing up and wanted to do the same for our kids. We also wanted to make it easy for busy moms. Mommy’s Messages are an easy way for anyone to keep up that tradition in their families or to start a new one. The messages help make that someone special laugh, feel loved and smile throughout the day. In addition to being sisters, Alison and Jill share one more important thing; they both have children just starting their school years and toddlers to keep them really busy. Mommy’s Messages was the perfect first product for us as stay at home moms.

Beginning with a background in business development, social entrepreneurship, child development and marketing, Mommy’s Messages was the perfect product to launch their entrepreneurial adventure. Alison and Jill are focusing attention on the development of products with a personal touch that are cleverly designed and uniquely crafted to support working moms with busy lives.

Mommy’s Messages are an easy way to say I love you and to bring a laugh, moment of praise or smile to someone special. Alison and Jill have young children in pre-school and toddlers who inspire fresh ideas and help serve as testing grounds. Constantly alert to the need for improvements in existing products or to the creation of unique new ideas, their business sense, customer connection, careful planning and just being moms is what drives them to make a difference. They hope their story inspires other young mothers to do the same. Nothing is impossible - if you believe and keep your eyes open.

Additional Tidbits:

Both Alison and Jill have worked in various fields before starting GoodStuff Products. Alison worked in Entertainment and then did a 180 and started working for Habitat for Humanity International. That is how she met her husband. They both left Habitat to form their own nonprofit Materials Matter - to provide materials to build and renovate affordable housing and shelters while keeping usable materials out of the landfills.

Jill worked in sales travelling to open new markets. After settling back in Southern California, she met her husband. They continued to work as a team. They took over a greeting card business and head the Christmas card program for a local kids’ cancer research group.

Alison and Jill are also working on several other products which are in different stages of design and are expected soon.
